Many people complain that the volume and clarity of sound varies across television channels. Once you settle on a particular program, you might think there is nothing you can do to understand voices more easily except adjust the volume. However, many hearing aids have the capability to receive the sound directly from a television transmitter wirelessly, so you can understand more clearly and other people in the room can enjoy the program at a volume that is comfortable for everyone!

The television transmitters are specific to the brand of hearing aid you use. They are easy to install. Please contact our office for more information about these devices.

Another option that is built into your television is Closed Captioning. You can activate the subtitles through your remote control. Captioning supplements the speech you do understand through your hearing aids to “fill in the gaps”, so you don’t have to work so hard to listen.

Between your eyes and your ears, you can better enjoy your television programs!
