Meet Susan Bankoski Chunyk, Au.D.
Susan Bankoski Chunyk earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders and a Master of Arts Degree in Audiology from the University of Connecticut. She was awarded a Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from A.T. Still University at the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Chunyk completed her Clinical Fellowship Year in Audiology at the New York School for the Deaf in White Plains, New York, before entering private practice at Hampden Hearing Center in 1984. Dr. Chunyk maintained membership in the American Academy of Audiology, the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Massachusetts Speech-Language-Hearing Association throughout her career. She served on the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and the Regional Advisory Council to the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for several years.
Dr. Chunyk remained licensed throughout her career as an Audiologist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the state of Connecticut and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Her interest in sign language inspired her to pursue her career in Audiology and she remains fluent in American Sign Language. Dr. Chunyk’s passion for improved communication and interpersonal connection has guided her throughout her professional career and into her retirement in 2025.
