Mechanical problems occur more often in warm weather, since hearing aid components are susceptible to damage from moisture and extreme temperatures. To ensure good operation year-round, always keep your hearing instruments clean and dry. Wipe the devices every night with a dry tissue and clean the openings with the tools provided.
We recommend a professional cleaning in our office every 6-12 months. Remove your hearing aids before using sunscreen, cologne, hair products, shaving cream, after-shave lotion or body powder. Also remove them before bathing or swimming and store them every night in a dehumidifier, such as a Dri-Aid jar or Dry and Store system.
