I stopped going to the movies because I have trouble understanding the dialogue. How can I join my friends at the theater and enjoy a movie?

New federal regulations went into effect on January 17, 2017 requiring movie theaters that show digital movies to provide equipment to make the movies more accessible to people with hearing or vision difficulty.

This equipment includes closed captioning provided via individual devices viewed by the person at his/her seat (not displayed on the large movie screen) for people with hearing problems, and audio description transmitted via wireless headsets for people with vision problems. The compliance date for the regulations is June 2, 2018. Through use of this special equipment, you and your friends can all enjoy a visit to the movies!
