My doctor recommended a hearing evaluation. Will my insurance pay for a hearing test?

Most health insurance plans, including Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage plans and private insurance plans, will reimburse for hearing evaluations by an Audiologist, if the test is medically necessary. Some insurance plans require an order or referral from your primary care provider. You should contact the office of the Audiologist and ask if that office participates with your insurance plan. If the provider does not participate with your plan, ask if there are out-of-network benefits available. Also find out if you need a physician’s order or referral. Our support staff can help you determine your insurance coverage when you call to schedule your hearing evaluation appointment.
